Stop Human Rights Abuses in Haiti

Stop State Sponsored Terror In Haiti Now!

Picket At The Embassy Of Haiti
2311 Massachesetts Ave, Nw, Washington D.C.
Every Wednesday
12noon -1pm

This has been a devastating year for the Haitian people's struggle for democracy. Democracy activists are under brutal attack in Haiti or in exile. Political prisoners fill the jails, executed bodies fill the morgues and families fleeing persecution sleep each night in a different place. An unconstitutional regime installed by foreign powers displaced Haiti's nine-year experiment in elected government. The disbanded Haitian army is again on the march, commandeering police stations, patrolling with assault rifles and resuming its trademark brutality against the defenseless.

This past month has been particularly difficult. The army marched right into Port-au-Prince, with no resistance from the police or UN forces. The police shot at a peaceful demonstration on September 30, killing several people, and followed that up with almost daily lethal raids in poor neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince. The ranks of political prisoners illegally arrested swelled with a Catholic priest, Fr. Gerard Jean-Juste who was recently dragged away from feeding 600 hungry children.

PLEASE JOIN US EVERY WEDNESDAY from 12noon -1:30pm at the Haitian embassy. THE PEOPLE OF HAITI NEED YOUR SUPPORT!
